Episode 3: Yoga with Sarah Heldsinger

For episode 3 of The Seven Sisters Podcast, I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Sarah Heldsinger, the owner of Swell Yoga Studio in Margaret River.

Our conversation was a beautiful dive into the world of yoga—its benefits, its many styles, and the deeply personal journey it offers to each individual who practices.

Sarah shared how yoga became a transformative part of her life. For her, it started as a way to nurture her own well-being and grew into a passion for helping others experience the same. She described how yoga has this incredible ability to meet you exactly where you are, whether you’re brand new to it or have been practising for years.

One of the things I loved most about this conversation was Sarah’s perspective on how yoga can support women at different stages of life. She spoke about how the practice can help with managing hormonal phases, stress, restoring balance, and even assisting athletes’ performance and recovery. It was inspiring to hear how something as simple as coming to the mat can have such a profound impact.

We also talked about the diversity of yoga styles and how important it is to find what works for you. From dynamic vinyasa flows to gentle restorative classes, yoga offers something for everyone. Sarah encouraged listeners to explore without pressure—there’s no “right” way to do yoga, only the way that feels good for you.

What stood out most to me was Sarah’s reminder that yoga isn’t about being flexible or achieving perfect poses. It’s about reconnecting—with your body, your breath, and your sense of self. That message really resonated with me, and I hope it resonates with you, too.

If you’re curious about starting yoga, returning to it, or simply learning more about how it can fit into your life, this episode is a must-listen. Sarah’s passion for the practice is contagious, and her insights are full of warmth and wisdom.
